Instructions to Authors

Journal of Advanced Research (JOAR)

The Journal of Advanced Research (JOAR) is a bimonthly, peer-reviewed, open-access publication that follows a continuous publication model. Submissions are invited from researchers and professionals worldwide in computer science, engineering, and allied computational disciplines. All manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening, followed by a double-blind peer review conducted by subject experts to ensure originality, scientific quality, and relevance.

Authors are advised to review the Editorial Policies section before submission to understand the review process, publication ethics, and formatting requirements. All accepted papers may be subject to minor editorial modifications for consistency and clarity.

Authorship Criteria

All persons listed as authors must meet the criteria for authorship, reflecting substantial scholarly contributions to the research. Authorship credit should be based on:

  1. Conceptualization and Design: Significant contribution to study conception, design, or data interpretation.
  2. Manuscript Preparation: Involvement in drafting or critically revising the article for intellectual content.
  3. Final Approval: Review and approval of the final version prior to publication.

Individuals who contribute to the study but do not meet all authorship criteria (e.g., technical assistance, funding acquisition) should be acknowledged separately in the Acknowledgment section.

Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the Submit Manuscript link on the journal’s website or directly through email at:
???? editorinchief@joaresearch.com

Submissions are initially reviewed by the editorial team for compliance with journal scope and formatting standards. Manuscripts meeting basic criteria are then forwarded for peer review by two or more qualified referees. The editorial decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) is communicated within a reasonable timeframe.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English (British or American usage is acceptable but not a mix of both). The file must be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) using the provided JOAR template.

A standard research paper should include the following sections:

  1. Title Page
  2. Abstract and Keywords
  3. Introduction
  4. Materials and Methods / Methodology
  5. Results
  6. Discussion
  7. Conclusion
  8. Acknowledgment (if any)
  9. References

Title Page

The title page must contain:

  • A concise and informative title of the article.
  • Full names of all authors (limited to six), with one full forename per author, and institutional affiliations (department, institution, city, postal code, country).
  • For multiple affiliations, use superscript numbers linked to each author.
  • Contact information for the corresponding author including mailing address, phone, and email.
  • A running title not exceeding 50 characters.

Abstract

The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must summarize the study’s objectives, methods, major results, and conclusions. It should be written in a clear and structured manner, suitable for readers to grasp the study’s essence quickly.

Keywords

Provide three to six keywords in alphabetical order, separated by commas, placed immediately below the abstract.

Introduction

Clearly define the purpose and rationale of the study. Briefly summarize background information and identify existing knowledge gaps or limitations in prior research that motivated the current work. Cite only the most relevant literature and avoid extensive theoretical review.

Materials and Methods / Methodology

This section must detail the research design, experimental setup, or computational models used. It should provide sufficient detail to allow reproducibility of the study. For computational papers, include algorithmic workflows, simulation parameters, and datasets used.

Results

Present findings logically using text, tables, and figures. Summarize key observations and statistical outcomes, and include confidence intervals, p-values, or other relevant statistical measures. Ensure all figures and tables are properly numbered and captioned, and legends are typed continuously with the text.

Discussion

Interpret results in the context of the study’s objectives and existing literature. Emphasize novel findings, their implications, and limitations. Avoid repetition of data already presented in the results section. Highlight the relevance of the work for theoretical advancement or real-world application.

Conclusion

Provide a concise summary of the study’s main contributions and findings. Emphasize the novelty, scientific significance, and potential applications of the research. Conclude with perspectives for future research or practical implementation.

Acknowledgment (Optional)

Acknowledge individuals, institutions, or funding bodies that contributed to the work but did not meet authorship criteria. Mention grant numbers where applicable.

References

All references should follow the journal’s standard citation style and must be accurate, complete, and consistent. Examples of correct formatting:

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero for proper citation formatting.

Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure originality of their submissions and avoid any form of plagiarism. The Journal of Advanced Research uses Turnitin to verify content integrity. Ethical approval details should be provided for studies involving human or animal participants.
